Mixed results

It wasn't to be in the Davis Cup despite the sterling efforts of Andy and Jamie Murray (and their supporters from Stirling University) to win the doubles and reverse singles to level the tie.

But congratulations to Juan Martin del Potro who got revenge for Rio by beating Andy in five scintillating sets on Friday and remains on course to become a record-breaker himself.  This will be the fifth time Argentina have made it to the Davis Cup finals but they've never won.

And well done too to the GB team.  Making it to the Davis Cup semi-final is still a magnificent achievement.

We had better results in Rio. Huge paws up to GB's record-breaking Paralympians - 64 Gold medals and 147 in total. Wow.

The Paralympics came to an end yesterday along with the Davis Cup so I won't be able to cheer on GB for a while now but, instead of feeling blue, I've got lots of wonderful memories to look back on from what's been a wonderful #summerofsport.
